River Rats and Salty Dogs is the debut novel of writer Leon Bloodworth. It's a story of coming of age along the waters of the Apalachicola River, Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. As young Matt Drugar learns to navigate the river swamps, he also learns lessons of family, spiritual growth, responsibility and love.
The author is currently working on his second novel, which chronicles the fight to save the Apalachicola Bay. Future projects include a cookbook that features foods and recipes the author and his family have loved and honed through their years of living on Florida's gulf coast.
